The Rashbi

If I recall correctly, the celebrations at Bar-Yochai's grave commemorate the end of a plague that killed thousands of Rabbi Akiva's students who died for baseless hatred and infighting among themselves.

Fast forward a couple thousand years and it seems no one has learned a thing. Reports of "chaos & danger", "mismanagement" and bickering has put the annual event in peril due to various different groups fighting for control. We believe the fights are spiritual, halachic and due to different minhagim between the groups, and would like to stress that money has NOTHING, we repeat, NOTHING to do with this.
